Technology Tools for the Classroom

I recently completed 2 days of excellent technology training through OCTI (Oldham County Technology Institute).  Here are some great new ways we're going to incorporate technology into the classroom this year!  There are so many, we may not get to them all, but I'm compiling the list here so we can easily remember them and use them throughout the school year!

We will use this tool frequently for student collaboration and communication.

Yes, we already use Edmodo, but now I have lots of new ideas for even better uses of this great online tool!  We're going to create class groups for different content areas as well as areas of student interest.  Want to start a book club?  A Minecraft discussion board?  Just let Mrs. Whitley know and we can set it up!  We'll also use Edmodo as a reference tool for class notes, Powerpoints, reading assignments, etc.

This is a great online tool for recorded lessons to help you out at home!

We'll use this one for creating charts and graphs!

We'll use this cool website to gather research and to create source citations for research essays and projects.

Prefer to read a book on your device, but don't want to pay for it?  Now you can check it out for free using Overdrive!  It even has audio books!

This is a great place for kids to collaborate with one another!
